Substantive Editing: A careful analysis of the manuscript in order to help you develop character, scene and plot.	$1,200.00 for a 60,000 word manuscript. This is a one time fee. There will be no further charge, no matter how many times we may go over your manuscript.
Copy-editing: Basic corrections in grammar, spelling and punctuation.	$800.00 for a 60,000 word manuscript.
Nonfiction
A complete analysis, which may include research.	2.5 cents a word, with a $25.00 minimum charge.
Copy-editing: Again, this includes only basic corrections in grammar, spelling and punctuation.	2 cents a word, with a $25.00 minimum charge.
Typing
Typing and Formatting a Manuscript	$0.50 for every hundred words
Ghostwriting
Writing a manuscript to the author's specifications	To be negotiated. Each manuscript is an individual project.
Indexing
Indexing a Finished Manuscript	$1.00 for every hundred words

The fees described on this page are for the project as a whole. At The Best Word, we do not consider our projects to be complete until are clients are fully satisfied with our work.

Along with checks, we accept credit card payments through PayPal. And, we will soon be accepting payments through E-Gold as well. In these days of fluctuating monetary values, a little bit of gold does have its appeal.
