Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of writing do you do at the Best Word?

We specialize in writing memoirs and novels for our clients. However, we also write articles and occasionally blogs of a more technical nature.

Whose name will be on my book?

Your name is the only name that will be on your manuscript. When you agree to have us write your book, you sign a contract with us, which clearly states that when you have made all the payments agreed upon for your manuscript, it is yours and no one else’s.

Can you help me get my book published?

At The Best Word, we make it our business to keep abreast of which publishers and agents are reputable. If you choose to sign up for our submission service, we will assess which publishers and agents have the best reputation among other writers, and which ones would be most interested in selling your book.

Do you permit time payments?

Yes, we are always willing to negotiate payment plans to suit your budget. Still, some projects require a fair amount of research, including interviews with specialists in your field and visits to specialized libraries. Do contact us for an estimate of what we would charge for your project.

Should I copyright my manuscript when it is complete?

Traditionally, the major publishers have always taken care of that for the writer. Reputable publishers work with the authors, polishing the book before it gets published. Once this process is complete, the publisher takes care of filing for the copyright. However, should you choose to self publish your book, filing for the copyright is a good idea.

Can you guarantee publishing with a major publisher?

Unfortunately, no. Not unless your name happens to rhyme with Steven King.
