The fact that some of the books this woman wrote, if she indeed exists, have been on the best seller lists is sad. The fact that at least one of her books sold over 70 thousand copies is almost tragic. This writer has come to the conclusion that Kensington Publishers is capable of taking garbage and making best sellers of it.

From the writer/editor’s point of view, every word in this book is perfect. This is something we deeply appreciate, as we spend from seven to ten hours a day, every day, busily writing and correcting prose, either on our work or someone else’s. Here is at last a book that even the most fastidious writer can relax with.

The walk took me right along/underneath the huge cement wall which surrounds and divides Bethlehem..it is a prison wall: concrete, over 20', has numerous taller very ominous guard towers, and is covered with public art from around the world.

Once, since I had visited last week, the settlers had invaded the front part of her house. The police had come and forced them out but Rifka ended up in the hospital with a stroke. After her discharge, there was a threat the settlers would return before or upon the court verdict.

Thankfully, the army didn't attempt to use the teargas they were preparing as it would have seriously backfired and helped the settlers immeasurably. After awhile all youths dispersed and Gaie began getting a barrage of phone calls inquiring about rumors of an Israeli army jeep having been overturned by settlers.

As I last mentioned in Beit Ommar, the army brought more than 100 troops into this small; town two a week ago, broke into four homes and arrested five young men. I asked to visit some of the families and saw two.

This Friday, twenty-six people were arrested. Nine of them were on the way to the neighborhood as part of the marching band. Their instruments have been confiscated for several weeks. Likewise my friend was arrested before the demonstration even arrived in the neighborhood. He has clearly been marked and even though the last two arrests resulted in no charges or physical restrictions there is concern now that now he will be deported.
